My core obligations as a Product Designer at Altamira
User-Centered Design
- Conduct user research to understand the needs, challenges, and workflows of seafarers and related maritime stakeholders (The Hood case study).
- Create personas, user journeys, and service blueprints to guide design decisions.
- Validate design hypotheses through user testing, interviews, and feedback loops.
Product Design & Execution
- Design intuitive, accessible, and responsive interfaces for web and mobile apps.
- Translate product requirements into user flows, wireframes, and interactive high-fidelity prototypes.
- Ensure consistency in layout, components, and interactions by maintaining and evolving the design system.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with BA, PM, and developers.
- Participate in grooming, sprint planning, and product reviews, contributing a design perspective to roadmap discussions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to balance user needs with business goals and technical feasibility.
Feedback, Testing & Iteration
- Conduct usability tests, gather feedback, and iterate designs to improve usability and satisfaction (product metrics ☺️).
- Use analytics tools (e.g., Maze) to identify user behavior patterns and friction points.
Communication
- Present design decisions to stakeholders and advocate for user-centered solutions.
Domain-Specific Responsibilities (Seafarers Product, The Hood)
- Understand maritime industry requirements, compliance standards, and the unique context of seafarers’ work.
